COVID-19 INFO
Because of the global pandemic of COVID 19, as quarantine practices are still being practiced everywhere, I understand your concerns and trepidations of hiring a baby photographer to take pictures of you and your baby outside the comforts of home in a studio environment at this time. Rest assured, my team and I adhere to a strict protocol before, after and during our photo sessions, as we take every precaution to protect the health and ensure the safety of everyone involved.
As a side note, my journey as a baby photographer began in a hospital environment where I was certified to safely handle and photograph babies in the first days of life where they are most vulnerable. So I know what it takes to ensure your baby’s safety and am trained to do so.
What to expect?
In studio, always following protocol that prevents the spread and protects us from the virus.
Prevention:
After the photo session is over, EVERYTHING the baby touches(props, backdrops, toys, etc) is IMMEDIATELY placed into a hospital-grade disposable bag, which will then be washed, sanitized, or discarded all together
The space is well ventilated and A UV purifier (kills 99.9% of airborne viruses) will be used the entirety of the session
ALL photography equipment and surfaces are wiped down with disinfectant wipes at the end of the session.
Hand sanitizer is readily available and used before handling the baby repeatedly.Protection:
DISPOSABLE GLOVES
ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS AND ASSISTANTS WILL BE WEARING GLOVES WHICH MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES.
THE CLIENT WEARING GLOVES IS NOT REQUIRED BUT RECOMMENDED.
WEARING A MASK:
The photographer, the assistant and clients must interact with each other wearing a protective face covering at ALL times as recommended by World Health Organization and US CDC.
The one exception is during portraits, the one(s) being photographed may remove them. It’s NOT encouraged NOR is it recommended, and can only be permitted when:
the photographer and/or others (not being photographed) are wearing masks
photographer and subjects are 6 feet or more.
Follow social-distancing guidelines
When you are in the waiting area or the studio, maintain distance from anyone at least 6 feet apart as recommended by WHO and US CDC.
My space allows for the social distancing rule to be put into place. The mother must keep distance from the photographer as much as possible and CANNOT be right next to the photographer during the photo session unless instructed to do so by the photographer and is wearing a mask.
Some mothers may have a problem with this new rule and reality and understandably so, but due to the serious nature of this virus, social distancing must be encouraged and implemented. I just want to give a friendly reminder to all the mothers out there that I have held and photographed 500 babies, so your baby is in the best of hands!
I am still not comfortable anywhere outside home. Do you offer photo sessions off-location?
YES! However, the session fee is double the amount.
I am taking on more risks and have to proceed with extra caution, not to mention spending more time in order to deliver you nothing but the best. There is a good reason most photographers own a studio. Because it is a controlled environment, the chances of something going wrong is extremely low, guaranteeing most of the shots to come out perfect.
The opposite is true when I go to you. I can’t guarantee how your photos will turn out. It is the unknown environment that’s unpredictable and potentially chaotic. So there’s more of a likelihood the photos will be subpar - where I have to spend more time editing because I don’t accept showing you anything less than perfection.
I understand the safety of your family is at the utmost importance. Rest assured, we will follow the strict guidelines of COVID19’s protocol whether it is at the studio and/or off location. Doesn’t matter and makes no difference. But of course the decision is entirely up to you and understandable either way.
If you have any more concerns or questions, we’ll be happy to address them.
